SoArt: Nature inspires adventurous artist’s abstracts Jan 17th

Scottish-Australian artist Ann Rogan opens a solo exhibition ‘Plants Trees Rocks & Things’ on Thursday 17 January at Narooma’s SoART Gallery that will run for six days.

Ann was a finalist in the 2018 River of Art and has exhibited widely in the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra.

She moved to Narooma from NSW’s Southern Highlands a year ago and has already held an exhibition in SoART.

“This exhibition leans more towards the abstract than my previous exhibition and is mainly oil paintings,” Ann said. “Oils are my favourite medium.”

Ann describes her artwork as adventurous and non-conventional and says she paints “intuitively”.

“My inspiration mostly comes from exploring the outdoors, observing rock formations and sometimes this leads to producing some minimalist depictions such as in the small works in the ‘Sticks & Stones’ collection in this exhibition,” she said.

All artworks in this exhibition are for sale.

SoArt Gallery is on the Princes Highway next to Narooma’s Kinema. The exhibition is open 17-22 January 10am–4pm

The exhibition will be officially launched on Thursday 17 January at 6pm. Everyone is welcome. Visit Ann's website HERE
