Proposed residential and seniors living development for Bay foreshore



Eurobodalla Shire Council has received a Development Application for consideration. The DA is a concept proposal that would see residential and seniors living development that includes the development proposal – stage 1 of 18 seniors living units, associated infrastructure and partial demolition on existing at 49 Beach Road, Batemans Bay Submissions to Council in regards to the Development Application close Mon 7th January 2019


The site is currently occupied and operated by Coachhouse Marina Resort, which consists of 168 single storey villas, a conference facility and various outdoor amenities. These buildings will be demolished as part of this proposal. The proposal involves a staged development consisting of residential apartments, a retirement village, residential care facility and a wellness centre. The development is envisioned to create ample additional amenity for both future residents and the general public, while sharing existing natural assets of the lagoon’s shoreline and views out to Batemans Bay that are currently inaccessible. The overall proposal consists of: - Zone A Residential Apartment Development, involving 9 residential apartment buildings - Zone B Retirement Village, involving 8 seniors residential apartments, and 1 building housing a community centre and public restaurant - Zone C Residential Care Facility, involving a residential aged care facility and a wellness centre. - A variety of generous public and semi-public open spaces along the shoreline and between buildings. These include parks, walkways, play areas, and access to Hanging Rock Creek’s marina. It is envisioned that the overall development will be constructed in multiple stages, the first being Stage 1B (Zone B Retirement Village).


The Development Application, plans, and associated documents may be inspected free of charge during the exhibition period at: Eurobodalla Shire Council’s customer service centre, on the corner of Campbell and Vulcan Streets, Moruya, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Batemans Bay Library, Hanging Rock Place, Batemans Bay, Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm, and Saturday between 9.30am and 12pm. or here online
