Australia Day at Surf Beach Narooma 2019

Narooma, it’s time think about nominations for the Narooma and District Australia Day Awards 2019.

Narooma Australia Day Committee member Carol Hodges asks "Do you know a local person, or an organisation, deserving recognition for their exceptional service to the community over the past year, or over a period of time?"

"Or was there an event held during the year that deserves recognition?"

"If so, we need you to nominate that person, or organisation, or event, so the community can say "thank you" to them." "We know there are many worthy award recipients out there in our community and the Narooma Australia Day Committee looks forward to receiving your nominations."

Nomination forms are available at the Narooma Visitors' Information Centre, or by phoning Carol on 44767385.

Completed forms can be left in the boxes at the Narooma Visitors' Information Centre and at the Narooma Library. Narooma Australia Day is held on Jan 26th, 2019 commencing at 08:00am at the Narooma Surf Life Saving Club Everyone is invited to start the day with an Aussie BBQ breakfast at the Narooma Surf Club. Breakfast kicks off at 8 am and is proudly hosted by Narooma Surf Club and the Narooma & District Lions Club. Don’t forget to bring your water, hat and sunscreen. And after a leisurely breakfast by the beach, join the Narooma Rotary Club for their famous duck race, which starts at the Narooma bridge. Look out for the Rotary Club members who are around town selling ducks for the race. Tickets are $5, and all funds go towards the Australian Rotary Health Foundation and the Narooma Rotary Tertiary Scholarship Fund.

Breakfast starts early - last year was a corker day
