On The Job: High-Demand Careers In Focus At Tafe NSW Batemans Bay And Moruya Infofest


TAFE NSW Moruya and Batemans Bay are set to throw open their doors to prospective students next week at the first-ever InfoFest. Members of the Eurobodalla community can explore course and career options by attending InfoFest session at TAFE NSW Moruya and Batemans Bay continue until 25 January 2019

As local school leavers consider their career options for 2019, InfoFest will showcase the many job pathways offered by TAFE NSW, with staff on hand to assist with enrolments, career advice and campus tours.

It comes as a recent study by TAFE NSW of the Eurobodalla and South Coast regions forecast jobs growth in the health and community services as well as the tourism and experience services sectors over the next two years.

TAFE NSW Regional General Manager Kerry Penton said the Jobs of the Future report predicted significant growth in full-time employment opportunities in the aged and disabled care and childcare sectors locally.

Other career areas tipped to enjoy employment growth in the region included project builder and chef.

“Caring for our young and elderly is critical to the functioning of any community,” Ms Penton said.

“To provide those services effectively, we need highly qualified professionals and TAFE NSW is ideally positioned to train the workforce of tomorrow.

“TAFE NSW offers a range of qualifcations across industry growth areas including Individual Support – Ageing and Early Childhood Education and Care, Nursing as well as Hospitality – just to name a few.


“TAFE NSW is Australia’s largest education and training provider and will continue to innovate and invest in courses to meet the skills needs of the region.

“TAFE NSW delivers the skills that drive a strong economy, support vibrant communities and help individuals, enterprises and industries to adapt and thrive.

“With more than 1200 face-to-face and online courses available for 2019, and with current and future job prospects for the Eurobodalla looking bright, I encourage the community to visit TAFE NSW to find out how you can upskill or reskill to pursue employment opportunities.”

TAFE NSW currently provides courses for nine out of the 10 professions expected to have the greatest jobs growth over the next five years.

Members of the Eurobodalla community can explore course and career options by attending InfoFest session at TAFE NSW Moruya and Batemans Bay between 21 and 25 January 2019 or attend online information sessions at www.tafensw.edu.au.
