There’s something for everyone in Eurobodalla’s celebrations for the NSW Seniors’ Festival this year.

An annual celebration for people over 60, the 2019 theme is ‘Love your Life’, which encourages older residents to find new ways to have a good time.

This year Eurobodalla residents are being urged to ‘try something new’ in a range of classes that include croquet, bridge, indoor bowls, Scottish dancing, and dragon boating.

Seniors can try new forms of exercise, venture into the online world at informative workshops, get an insight into local Aboriginal culture, and share a lunch and lively conversation.

In Tuross Head on Friday 22 February, Eurobodalla Council will host a Seniors’ dance morning tea and Love Your Life Expo, where attendees can enjoy morning tea, take to the dance floor and see what’s new from health, beauty and active lifestyle professionals.

There will be Scottish highland dancing, line dancing, ballroom dancing, intergenerational chair yoga and Indigenous dance groups demonstrations.

Council’s community development coordinator Zoe Morgan said stalls would be held simultaneously with the dance for seniors to seek advice and speak directly to local health, beauty and lifestyle professionals.

“The morning tea and Love Your Life Expo will be a one-stop shop for people over 60 to learn about new opportunities to love their life in our community,” she said.

“We’ll have healthy living stalls as well as caring groups, a therapeutic arts organisation, reflexology, shiatsu, acupressure, massage and energy healing, to name a few.

“The CWA is on board for catering and we’ll be inviting local aged care facilities, sports and social groups to come along for a fun day out.”

The NSW Seniors Festival officially runs from Wednesday 13 February to Sunday 24 February.
