Tomago River will come alive with a great community fundraiser evening for the Timor Leste group Ekipa Tasi Mos. There's only 14 days left to get your team of 3 people together and challenge your mates to a short course paddle on the Tomaga River. All you need is a surf board no bigger than 9'6". Join in the fun to raise some funds for a marine debris recycling station for the awesome community on the island of Atauro in Timor-Leste. Ekipa Tasi Mos Atauro means 'Clean Ocean Team Atauro'. The Ekipa Tasi Mos was established in May 2016 and is a nonprofit Community Organization based on the island of Atauro, Timor-Leste. Ekipa Tasi Mos was established to remove and record plastic pollution from the marine environment that surround the waters of Atauro, Timor-Leste and to assist the community in reducing their use of single-use plastics and to build a community recycling plant to process some of the marine debris and to enhance the locally managed marine areas (there are 14 in total).
Entry cost is $25 per team. Please send a message via FACEBOOK if you would like to be involved or need more information. As you can see from the photo below we have been doing some much needed training for the event. 😀
