South Durras boat ramp temporary closure Feb 25th to Mar 1st

The boat ramp off Lakeside Drive, South Durras will be closed from Monday 25 February to Friday 1 March 2019 to allow the ramp to be extended.

The work is part of the project to formalise the parking area with the provision of kerb and gutter, a new footpath, road surfacing and improved drainage. The design includes 19 parking spaces, 9 of these designed to cater for boat trailers, as well as an accessible parking space. The extent of the car park and road will generally overlap the existing car park and informal parking areas, however, some vegetation removal will be required to allow construction of uniform-sized parking spaces and adequate room to turn. The ground level will be raised to prevent flooding of the car park and ensure the boat ramp is accessible at all times. Kayaks will be able to launch from the beach area while the boat ramp is closed. Disruptions to vehicles and pedestrians should be minimal during works. Details of the project including a plan of the proposal can be found on Council's website. http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/project-and-exhibitions/major-projects-and-works/durras-lake-boat-ramp-upgrade
