The Beagle Editor,
Whilst the Shire often gets a bad wrap (and rightly so). A big congratulations to the men and women who recently replaced the main runway at Moruya Airport. The last time the runway was refurbished was in the sixties. The upgraded runway will allow for bigger and heavier aircraft to land and resolve bumps and standing water issues with the old runway. This was a specialized job never undertaken by the Council before. Meticulous planning was required, the works were completed on schedule in just three weeks with the regular flights resuming 7 March. Similar projects in other areas have taken six weeks. A job well done. Paul Lowry
