Weekend house fire in Tuross

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 384 Moruya report that P384 was called to house fire in Tuross Head to assist their Rural Fire Service. On arrival crews could not see any fire but could smell smoke.

"After speaking with the occupants a kitchen fire had been extinguished by a neighbour. Crews entered with breathing apparatus and checked the kitchen with a thermal imaging camera to confirm no fire extension into the roof or walls.

"House was vented using the positive pressure fan to clear remaining smoke.

"Thanks to the quick thinking of the neighbour this house was saved and only minimal damage done.

"Remember, keep looking while cooking."
