Probus will welcome you

Probus will welcome you says Moruya president

MORUYA Probus Club would be pleased, very pleased in fact, to have more local people join, the president Max Hogno said on Tuesday. He was speaking at the club committee’s meeting held, as usual, at Moruya Golf Club.

Probus is an organisation for retired professional and business people, hence the name. As well as a meeting place for friends, old and new, at Moruya Golf Club on the fourth Tuesday of each month, Probus offers a range of social occasions. The monthly magazine Active Retirees contains, in addition to articles on health, travel, investments, cooking special Probus discounts on a range of accommodation and travel offers. There are also details of the Probus travel insurance scheme that the older members find much less expensive than others.

Each month there is a guest speaker. They are always interesting with last month’s, on AirBnB seeing some members leaving clearly thinking of getting onto that act…as hosts, guests, or both.

Details of the annual meeting on March 26 were discussed at the Tuesday’s meeting as well as a social outing for luncheon at O’Brien’s Hotel, Narooma, on April 9, and the Christmas in July luncheon at Tomakin Club on July 9.

Membership officer Carolyn Winters told the meeting there were 51 members with at least one prospective member.

Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Anyone considering membership should call president Max Hogno on 4474 2324.
