Council consider rethink on BBay Community Centre Sale

Following on from an excellent presentation by Dr Sue Mackenzie regarding Council's shortsightness in considering the sale of the Batemans Bay Community Centre to assist in providing funds for the upkeep of the Mackay Park project the councillors entered into robust discussion around the sale. Of interest to most in the gallery and to a few Councilors was the fact that the community centre is used by 112 organisations Also revealed was that Council actually has no business plan that offers any proof of the visitation numbers to the new Mackay Park project, the projected revenues, the projected usage, the project costs and any indicative costs that are publicly available and transparent that indicate the viability of the centre in the short and long term.
