Dr Mike Kelly, member for Eden Monaro has welcomed the announcement from the National Australia Bank (NAB) that their local branches in Eden-Monaro will remain open until at least January 2021. Dr Kelly said "This is a win for the electorate."
"I was pleased to add my voice to the strong community campaign led by Jason Hextell and Phil Constable last year, who spent many hours ensuring that NAB heard the views of the people in Narooma, which resulted in NAB’s decision to keep that branch open."
"In particular, I was delighted that NAB listened to my direct intervention in relation to the Narooma Branch. NAB has advised me that their experience in Narooma informed their decision.
"Banks have an important role in supporting rural and regional communities. I thank the NAB for their commitment to maintain our local branches, and I look forward to working with them in the future.
"I hope this announcement will give greater certainty to our communities, NAB customers, and their staff," said Dr Kelly.
