Husband and Wife win Vets 2 Person Ambrose Event
On what turned out to be a beautiful autumn morning a good field of 61 players registered for the 2 person Ambrose event. As is customary with this event players were also vying for the Phyllis Starr "tin cup", and the game was followed by a gala day lunch. Winning team on the day was husband and wife relative newcomers to Tuross, Ted and Shirley Quinlan with a net score of 31.25. They were followed home by Mike Birks and Herb Muriwai on 32.25, Graham Moore and Peter McRae on 32.75 and Ken Brown and Solveig Olsson on 33.
Balls or chocolates went to Noel Downie and Patrick McNeile on 33, Rob Nash and Greg Smith on 33.5, Frank Pomfret and Paul Pereira on 33.5, Steve Johnston and Len Rogers on 33.75, and finally Teri and Steve Swanbury on 34. Denis and Lyn Benger were the recipients of this weeks Bradman award. Nearest the pins were taken out by John Cox on the 4th, Ian Manton on the 6th, and Leonie Snodgrass and Ken Brown on the 7th. The Accuracy award for a straight drive on the 5th was won by Leigh Edwards.
