A Climate Action Gilmore Candidates Forum will be held next Tuesday 14 May 7.30pm – 9pm at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Auditorium with a focus on climate change..
The forum will be hosted by Ian Campbell of the south coast online news About Regional.
The Forum is being organised by four local groups that are working together to make this the Climate Election.
The groups include 350 Eurobodalla, Southcoast Health and Sustainability Alliance (SHASA), the Nature Coast Marine Group and the Coastwatchers Association.
Allan Rees of 350 Eurobodalla said “Candidates will be asked the following questions:
1. Would you introduce yourself and say what is the most important issue for this electorate?
2. What climate action will you and your party take if elected?”
“Many voters are still not sure where the parties stand on climate action and this is their opportunity to find out”, said Allan Rees.
Members of the community will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions on any issue of concern to them”.
Kathryn Maxwell of SHASA said “we have three candidates confirmed
· Fiona Phillips, Labor
· Katrina Hodgkinson, Liberals
· Carmel, the Greens
We are hoping that Warren Mundine, Liberals, will also participate in the Candidates Forum”.
