Legal Aid NSW will present free information sessions at Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma libraries next week on how residents can protect themselves from scams.
An initiative of Eurobodalla Council, the sessions will include tips on how residents can protect their identities and how the law can help.
Council’s Eurobodalla Libraries Manager Linda Heald said scammers targeted people of all backgrounds, ages and incomes.
“Identity theft can be both financially and emotionally distressing for victims and once your identity has been stolen it can be extremely difficult to recover,” she said.
“Come along to a free information session to hear from a Legal Aid NSW lawyer about how you can protect your identity and how the law can assist if you become a victim of a scam.”
The avoiding scams information session will be held at Batemans Bay Library on Wednesday 15 May, from 11.45am-12.45pm, at Moruya Library on Wednesday 15 May 2019, from 3-4pm, and at Narooma Library on Thursday 16 May, from 2-3pm.
Bookings are not essential. For more information contact your local library or visit www.esc.nsw.gov.au/events
