Mogo author, Syd Mackenzie, will launch his new novel, Warm Corner at the Air Raid Tavern in Moruya on Friday night, May 31st from 6pm. Syd has been a longtime resident of the shire and well remembered from the early days of 2EAR FM’s Ear To Ear community magazine that celebrated the local community and everything on offer from the local 2EAR-FM radio station (107.5FM) that was located in Page Street before relocating to Rose Street. It was Syd who edited the magazine and organised the build of the new studios leaving a wonderful community legacy that is enjoyed across the region today. Of the book launch on Friday Syd says "There may be sparks, there could be laughs, but be assured, the occasion will be entertaining."
"Warm Corner follows Harry Dooley from his families’ roots in the Monaro to the corridors of government in Canberra that sees him retire to the coast and take over a glorious little farm Warm Corner, seven miles from Runnyforde, next door to Paradise.” Warm Corner is a rollicking tale that those familiar with Canberra of Old and the South Coast as it is will warm to.
Books are available at all Eurobodalla Shire Libraries and from Moruya Books.
