Broulee Runners June 12th 2019

The expected rain held off and 43 starters performed in warm conditions. We welcomed Kirsty Dunn, Evelyn Johnston and Andrea Scroope to their first run with the group.

In the 2 kilometres personal best times were recorded by Freya and Sadie Dunn, Audrey Knobel, Jesse Jenkins, and Peter Johnsen. The stand out over this distance was Mitchell Beby, who recorded his third personal best time in succession. It could be he is following in his famous fathers’ footsteps, who to tackle the Kona Hawaiian Ironman in October.

In the 3.5 kilometres Vicki Whitter recorded her fourth consecutive personal best. She is improving rapidly under the coaching of Gary Ashton, who encourages her by running with her each Wednesday.

Lauren Evans ran tonight fresh from a second placing in a half-marathon in Canberra last Monday.
