This afternoon saw Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters #Lifesaver23 tasked by @nswpolice to search for a vessel that might be on fire of the South Coast opposite Tuross Head after reports received that black smoke could be seen on the horizon. #Lifesaver23 then completed an extensive search off the coast reporting no boats to be found to be on fire or in distress. The crew did however locate a large container ship off Tuross Head and reported it was likely that it was engine exhaust being vented by the ship that alerted people on land.
