The FAR SOUTH FILM FESTIVAL showcases stories told by regional and remote filmmakers from around Australia.

The festival is produced by Far South Film Inc, a not-for-profit incorporated association of professional and emerging filmmakers and digital creatives living in South East regional NSW.
Filmmakers from regional and remote areas of Australia are invited to submit short films under 40 minutes, or features under 2 hours in length that reflect the people, environment and issues that matter to you to our festival.
Thanks to COVID, in 2020 and 2021 all of their film screenings, Q&A sessions and awards were 100% online. Far South Film Inc hopes that 2022 will allow them to run a hybrid in-person and online event, but if not they are ready to go fully online again, to audiences right around Australia.
The Festival organisers look forward to watching the unique, the beautiful, the scary and the moving stories from filmmakers living outside the metropolitan areas of our island continent.
The major prize for Best Film is AUD$1000 cash with cash and in-kind prizes for all categories in the festival totalling $5000.
