While road works continue on Beach Road, Eurobodalla Council is reminding residents that access to Batemans Bay Marina and JJ’s restaurant is always available via the Beach Road-Bavarde Avenue roundabout.
Asphalting work has stopped for now so as not to disrupt weekend traffic, but it will resume on Sunday night for three more 6pm to 6am shifts, finishing Wednesday morning.
The road does get busy between 7pm and 8pm, and drivers are asked to slow down and be patient if traffic banks up, and to obey traffic controllers.
The asphalting work will be complete by Wednesday, and the entire project finished prior to Christmas.
It will see the road and pathways between Club Catalina and Batemans Bay Marina rebuilt to improve safety, reduce crashes and adapt to sea level rise. The work includes replacement of stormwater and water mains, kerb and gutter and extension of the concrete median.
