Canberrans with holiday homes urged to allow long term rentals to ease housing shortage

Thousands of Canberrans who own a NSW South Coast holiday house are about to receive a letter urging them to allow it to be rented out to help ease the housing shortage. The lack of suitable long term rental properties in the wake of the bushfires and the pandemic is forcing some families into unsuitable accommodation. Eurobodalla Mayor Mathew Hatcher spoke to ABC Radio Canberra's Lish Fejer about why he wants ACT residents with a vacant holiday home to allow a long-term tenant in. LISTEN HERE
