Two walks were squeezed in around the rainy weather. The first saw 10 walkers meet at Narooma and travelled down to Camel Rock where we walked around Murruna Point., past Wallaga Lake foreshore and ending up at the Brewery for Lunch.
This is a short but stunning coastal walk which has views looking out to sea from the rocky headland south to Bermagui and over Wallaga Lake to Gulaga. The lake is open at present and we had morning tea at the Point viewing the Mountain from another perspective which was truly spectacular with its "Possum Coat" hugging the upper slopes, as rain was probably falling on those slopes. Jo Mariet led the walk and was thanked by the walkers at lunch.
The second walk was put on by Margaret Byrne on Saturday and they walked around the old mine area in North Narooma. This is not far from her home and so they managed to escape to her verandah for morning tea. Again they managed to walk in between the rain showers and because it was in hilly surrounds and on tracks it was not so much affected by the wet weather. A good place to walk in these conditions thanks Margaret for putting this walk on it was very timely. On a sadder note, Myf Deadman, an elderly founding member of the Club died recently. All members send their condolences to Myf's family and as she often said in her later years," it pleased her greatly that the Club she helped found was going from strength to strength".
