Every night around dusk a flying fox camp erupts into action as they leave for their evening feeding adventures. Date and time Fri, 12 May 2023 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM AEST
Location 1st Batemans Bay Scout Hall Southern end of Pacific Street (nearest cross street is Barvarde Ave) Batemans Bay, NSW 2536 Come along to watch the grey-headed flying-fox fly out spectacle and learn some fascinating facts about this native threatened species from councils Flying-fox Officer, Prue McGuffie.
The flying-fox camp is conveniently located on the Catalina golf course. Please be at the Batemans Bay Scout Hall by 5.00 pm where we will gather and walk as a group to the site.
This event is suitable for all ages but please note the activity occurs from sunset to last light and there will be a 250-metre walk (easy) from the Scout Hall to the viewing green (and back). Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Bookings are essential as this event will be capped at 40 people.
Please bring a torch and if you like, a camp chair/picnic rug and binoculars.
Please note: The event will be cancelled if the flying-fox numbers are too low.
