News today of the imminent reopening of the Batemans Bay office of the Bay Post.
The Bay office, along with the Narooma office of the Narooma News closed over a year ago as Australian Community Media reacted to the fall in advertising revenue and the impact of Covid requiring staff to work at home.
To add further to the cost savings the Moruya Examiner was withdrawn from print and the Bay Post reduced its two week editions down to Wednesday only.
While other regional ACM shopfronts for mastheads such as Southern Highland News and Goulburn Post remain closed it is nice to see this long empty shop in Batemans Bay come alive again.
Possibly the many other empty shops we have in the Bay will follow suit as the region opens up again.
