MAN ARRESTED IN BUSHLAND NEAR BATEMANS BAY
NSW Police have arrested a man during a search in bushland north of Batemans Bay, following a pursuit in the Shoalhaven area.
Police were conducting patrols on the Princes Highway at Berry just after 11 AM when they engaged in a pursuit of a white vehicle after it allegedly failed to stop for police.
The car continued south on the highway, with officers deploying road spikes just north of Tomboye Road at East Lynne.
The vehicle came to a stop north of Batemans Bay soon after, before the driver allegedly fled on foot.
Police say helicopters and a Dog Squad were called into assist with the search.
A man was located several hundred metres from the vehicle, in scrub west of the Princes Highway, just after 2 PM.
The man will be taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where charges are expected to be laid.
