UPDATE: With great regret, we've decided to postpone this weekend's concert by the Affinity Quartet. We will try to reschedule this for later in the year. If you have already purchased tickets, you can use them for any of our future concerts. We will also be happy to give you a refund. Apologies and best wishes,
Lada Marcelja montague.choristers.narooma@gmail.com It was touch and go for a while, but we are delighted to announce that the internationally acclaimed Affinity Quartet has been given the green light to travel to Narooma for our concert at 2:30 pm on Saturday July 3.
The concert features Mozart's wonderfully light-hearted Divertimento in D major K 136 and Mendelssohn's dramatic Quartet no 3 in E flat major, Op 44, as well as a new work by Melbourne composer Darrin Archer, titled Peace, Gratitude, Resolve. This piece was commissioned for the Affinity Quartet and captures the experience of 112 days Victorians spent in lockdown in 2020. “It’s emotional and raw and if you haven’t ever experienced a live string music performance, here is your opportunity and now is the time.”
You can find more information about the concert here: https://www.montaguechoristers.org/next-concert, and more about Affinity, including videos and recordings here https://www.affinityquartet.com.au/
