The Moruya Community Workshed isn’t just about big machines. Sure we’ve got lathes, drill presses, drop saws, linishers and welding equipment etc. but we also have some interesting small tools too.
We have recently purchased a pyrography tool which includes various drawing tips and stamp patterns for burning on wood, either decoratively or functionally. One of our members, John has experimented with it and, showcasing his artistic skills, has produced some interesting works of art on wood.
The applications for this tool are numerous. You can make signs and drawings to be framed or decorate wooden drink coasters, plant labels, cheeseboards, trays, bowls, jewellery, furniture, Christmas tree decorations, house numbers and even driftwood.
If these possibilities have got you excited come and join us. We meet every Wednesday and Friday from 8.30am to 2pm. Please contact Bruce on 0423 710 067.
