Narooma Mill Bay boat ramp works

Writer's picture: The BeagleThe Beagle

Council are preparing to upgrade the Mill Bay Boat Ramp and undertake repairs to the adjacent rock wall. They plan to start work on the rock wall on 2 June and expect to be on site for three weeks.

They’ll be bringing in large rocks and heavy machinery so parking at the boat ramp may be restricted at times. After the Queen’s Birthday long weekend they’ll start work on the boat ramp extending the lower end to allow enough water under boats while loading and unloading at dead low tides. They will need to close the boat ramp on a few occasions so boaters should be prepared to use Apex Park boat ramp approximately 500m away. The lengthening of the boat ramp will support the widening work they have planned early in the new financial year. At that time they’ll bring the ramp up to the standard 3.7 metres between the kerb logs and also install extra posts as tie up points.
