Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has been notified of 18 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8.00pm last night.
This brings the total cases in SNSWLHD to 150 since the start of the current outbreak in June.
Of the 18 new cases:
· Two new cases are in Goulburn and are under investigation.
· Nine new cases are in Queanbeyan - five are linked to known cases and four are under investigation.
· One new case is in Googong and is under investigation.
· One new case is in Jindabyne and is under investigation.
· One new case is in Cooma and is under investigation.
· One new case is in Narooma and is under investigation.
· One new case is in Dalmeny and is under investigation.
· Two new cases are in Batemans Bay and are linked to known cases.
One further case was reported overnight in Jindabyne.
The Jindabyne case reported today works at Thredbo resort. He has worked and been active in the community (including at hospitality and retail venues) for 6 days while infectious. Contact tracing is underway. He has no known source.
Sadly, NSW Health is today reporting the death of a Batemans Bay woman in her 70s at her home.
The woman had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine but had only received the second dose shortly before her death. She had underlying health conditions and was diagnosed with COVID-19 after she had died.
SNSWLHD extends its sincere condolences to the woman’s loved ones.
SNSWLHD has been notified of new venues of concern associated with COVID-19 cases. Anyone who visited one of these venues at the times listed is a casual contact and must
immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received. Staff will be
contacted separately by SNSWLHD’s Public Health Unit regarding their testing and isolation
requirements.
