Pigeon Racing for the SERPC Inc was on Saturday 5 August 2023 with a race from Nowa Nowa, Victoria. Distances to home lofts ranged from 200 - 290 kms.
6 members participated with 214 pigeons entered. Winds were light to moderate west then moderate south west.
The winning pigeons travelled the distance about 83kms an hour (1383 metres a minute) with Barbie & Mario Magrin of Wallaga Lake first, Richard, Warren and Karen Lawrie of Malua Bay second and Manny Byrne in 3rd.
A special coloured bird race was also held with the winning birds travelling a similar speed. Richard Lawrie and Co. coming in first followed by Barbie and Mario Magrin in second. Results are still pending to determine third place.
