Motorists are advised of temporary traffic changes on Clyde Street from next week to allow for the installation of the new L-shaped pontoon on the Clyde River as part of the Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project.
Traffic changes on Clyde Street will be in place from Tuesday 26 April until Saturday 14 May, weather permitting. This will include intermittent lane closures and stop/slow traffic conditions.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm Saturday.
Work will include the mobilisation of a large crane, alternating between two locations at Clyde Street east off-street carpark adjacent to the T-Wharf and Clyde Street west boat ramp.
A section of the Clyde Street east off-street car park will be closed during some of this work and the community are encouraged to use alternate parking along Clyde Street.
The Clyde Street west boat ramp will also be closed during most of this work and the community are encouraged to use alternate local boat ramps located on Old Punt Road or Hanging Rock. Electronic message boards will advise when this closure is in place.
River users are advised to be aware of pontoon movements between the Clyde Street west boat ramp and the L-shaped pontoon final location, downstream of the existing T-Wharf.
Pedestrian access on Clyde Street will be maintained at all times during this work and pedestrians are advised to follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow five minutes additional travel times and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience during this work.
