Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf were able to hold their monthly medal round on Saturday March 7th even though 90 mm’s of rain fell during the week. Thanks to the work of ground superintendent Tim Watson and his crew the course was open and even able to carry golf carts due to much improved drainage work that has been installed.
Tim Watson also took advantage of the conditions by winning the A grade division with an excellent score of net 68 strokes ahead of Colin Houghton 70 and Adam Husband 74.
B grade best was Anthony Lore with a net 72 followed by Paul Scholze 74 and Tony Brown 75 strokes.
Shane Gschwend won C grade with 71. Michael Allen and Michael Elfar who both scored 75 strokes were the place getters.
The Golden Shot award for the closest second shot on the par 4 second hole was won by Leigh Coloe with 2.90 metres.
Colin Houghton’s round of 72 strokes was the best off the stick score of the day.
Nearest the pins were won by A grade golfer Troy Kingdom on the 4th hole, Bob Hay on the 6th and Ian McManus won the 7th.
B grade player Wayne Fullerton was closest on the 4th and Bruce Brawn won the 6th hole.
Steve Johnston was the best on the 4th hole and Nigel Baring won the 6th hole in the C grade division.
