Tuross Head Bowling Club Combined Presentation Day

With over 40 people in attendance and a beautiful sunny Winter’s day to bowl, our combined Presentation Day was a wonderful way to acknowledge and celebrate our Club Champions for the 2022 – 23 Bowls Year.

The winners of the Presidents Team Match, by 1 shot, was the Men’s Club team of Col Fletcher, Marcel Kors and Mick Challice. It was a very close match, with the Women’s team of Jenny Madden, Di Challice and Jenny Marks trying to make up a deficit of 4 shots with only 2 ends to go.

The Women’s team won 2 shots on the 17th end, but unfortunately with only one end left, it came down to a measure and resulted in them winning only 1 shot on the last end. The final score was 21 – 20 in favour of the Men’s Club.

Members shared a roast lunch after bowls which was followed by the awards presentation, with the Men’s Club President, Col Fletcher handing the women their awards, and Jenny Madden, Women’s Club President handing out the Men’s and Open awards.

We would like to acknowledge the background work of our Social Committee, ably led by Dagmar Voges and Doreen Monks (a wealth of knowledge) and Fran O’Connell in the set up of the dining room on the day.

Club Manager Peter Price joined us for lunch on the day and made a special presentation to acknowledge all the work Jimmy Madden puts in to coaching our new bowlers and making them feel welcome at the Club. A big thank you to the wonderful hard-working staff of Club Tuross, who continue to be a valuable support for all our Bowling Club run functions.

OPEN FOURS CHAMPIONS 2022/23 Noel Downie, President Jenny Madden, Doreen Monks, John Monks and Rita Downie.
