The background to these events
In Feb 2020 an anonymous benefactor paid The Stride's fee, enabling World Central Kitchen to provide free meals and for the Murrah to waive fees to provide Free Entry to all.
It was an amazing night - of relief. And all-age Dance.
It was so good that the Murrah Committee decided to do it again for our communities - twice.
Murrah President, Howard Stanley said, "We’ve all been through so much and it continues; it’s just great to be able to receive this necessary funding from, initially, Coordinaire and recently for outdoor costs, BVSC to create some entertainment time out where all you’ve got to do is just turn up and enjoy. And the bands are so, so keen to play here to support us. Angus from SOT was holidaying here last January and was part of the first evacuation - he's so happy to be back, contributing." Can’t get much simpler than that.
The Murrah committee successfully applied for funding from Coordinaire a Commonwealth Health agency. then COVID happened. Further funding for the events to happen outside, like the Great Southern Nights initiative was provided by BVSC Bega Valley Black Summer Bushfires Community Recovery Contribution Program.
Importantly, health representatives and info will be there on the days, providing personalised contact and information.
